1982 Ixo Ferrari BB512LM 24 Hours of Le Mans 1/43 Scale Model.
This is a 1/43rd scale diecast model of the BB512 LM as driven by C. Ballot-Lena, J.C. Andruet and H.Regou in the 1982 running of the Le Mans 24 hours. The car dropped out of the race after 5 hours, due to an unknow cause but most probably engine failure.
The car in question is Ferrari 512 BB/LM, S/N 41263 which of course survives to this day.
The model is issued by Ixo Models who recently concluded a deal with Hotwheels / Mattel (holder of the license to produce official Ferrari models) to produce 1/43 scale models of the current Ferrari range of automobiles.
Scale 1:43, measures some 4 inches or 10 cm in length and comes in a display box.
The race was won by Jacky Ickx & Derek Bell in their # 1 Porsche 956 with a total of 359 laps to their name.
